Hands on Lenovo U330 Touch

So just got my hands on the Lenovo IdeaPad U330 Touch and thought to do a short review.

First thing’s first: the “U” stands for Ultrabook and the 330 stands for 13,3” display. So it’s a 13,3 inch ultrabook laptop with a metal case, HD and touchscreen display, illuminated keyboard … you get the picture. From my point of view, in terms of design it’s just another MacBook wanna-be. Not the first and not the last. Never the less it’s good. It’s only 1,35 kg and 18 mm thick.

The case it’s well thought in terms of ergonomic and functionality, but it’s not the best quality on the market. It has some edges that don’t align as they should.

The touchscreen it’s nice but personally I don’t see it’s utility.

Keyboard – they call it AccuType … it’s ok but I can’t figure out how it will stand in front of the test of time.

Power – they say the battery works for 6 hours with full HD playback. I’m saying it will do about 4 hours with the illuminated keyboard on and the max display back light navigating the web.

In terms of performance I can say it’s decent with an Intel Core i5 -4200U CPU @ 1,6 Ghz, 4 GB RAM, an 500 GB HDD , and a weak integrated Intel graphic card.

Overall I must say I’ts not necessarily worth it’s price of about 800 euro with the Windows 8 pre-installedĀ .
